The Village of Emerson has a population of just over 800 and is located between Wayne and South Sioux City. Highway 35 runs east and west a mile north of town and Highway 9 runs north and south through town. Emerson is lucky to have an excellent K-12 school system, a newer swimming pool, beautiful park, an extensive recreation program, and active community members.

Emerson will be one of the few cities within a mile of the newly proposed expansion of Highway 35 and is planning an Industrial Park between the village and highway.

Hubbard, NE, 12 miles to the northeast of Emerson, will be the location of a new 560 acres recreational area, which will contain a 240-acre no-wake lake, equestrian trails, hiking and biking trails, camping, etc. Hubbard is in the Emerson school district and any expansion of housing and businesses in the Hubbard area will add to the prosperity and growth of Emerson.

Emerson is also located within three counties, Dakota, Dixon, and Thurston, making it an ideal location for any consolidation of agencies that serve all three counties.
